Hello, dreamers. I wanted to put up a quick update on my ongoing rebranding efforts.
The rebranding of my site this time around will be a slow process. As I’m preparing to dive fully into the world of publishing, I’m trying to revamp my site with an eye to producing a better platform for my writing. I’m still deciding on just what role my site will play, but I have some preliminary ideas.
New Content
The most obvious feature of this revamp will be a fundamental change in content.
This site was never intended as a blog, per se. Rather, I’d envisioned it as a way to engage readers and present short fiction. To wit, in the future there will be very few personal blog posts on this site. This isn’t about me; it’s about my work. And I want to use this site to attract readers who enjoy my fiction, not hearing about my life. I may still periodically post personal content, and my annual posts will likely still be reposted. But I want to get back to the core objective of my platform.
Once rebranding is complete, this site will feature sci-fi short fiction almost exclusively. My current goal is to post flash fiction at least once or twice a week, and get back to my monthly short stories.
Old Content Removed
As part of this rebranding, and due to several forthcoming projects, I will be removing a lot of older posts from the site.
This means many of my short fiction pieces, and numerous personal posts, will be permanently removed from this website. To those who are new to my site, I apologize. But fear not: I seldom delete anything. All removed posts will be archived in my personal files. And at least a few pieces may not be gone forever…
Self-Published Works
Along with this rebranding, I’m pleased to announce here several upcoming self-published works. Over the coming months, I plan to finally enter the world of self-publication, starting with a collection of short stories from this site. Unrealized Realities will be a brief collection of some of my best short fiction pieces, intended as a tribute of sorts to my years working with this site. Unrealized Realities will be followed by my debut novel, Wide Horizon, which I hope to release sometime this fall. Both will be available for purchase on Amazon. More details to follow.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my readers for bearing with me through this awkward transitional phase. My site has changed a lot over the past several years. I know many of my more recent readers may not be interested in this new direction. I ask that you bear with me, as we continue this journey together. Until next time, dare to dream. – MK
