Writer’s Desk

Hello again, dreamers.

After an unplanned hiatus amid a busy life, I am back. There’s lots to do and lots to come, so let’s get right to it.

October

For some time now, my plan for the month of October has been simple: after getting back to work on my work-in-progress, The Pioneer Era, in September, I would take a month off novels to work on short fiction while beginning the querying process for The Pioneers. In late September I would have released my debut novel on Amazon, and now I could sit back and decompress, preparing for NaNoWriMo.

Unfortunately, life had other plans. And while I wouldn’t trade the bustle of my September for anything, it has necessitated a change in my timetable.

I still plan to devote much of the coming month to short fiction, and step away from ongoing novel projects. While I will be spending the coming month fleshing out my notes on The Pioneer Era, I likely won’t resume principle writing until November. As part of my resumed work on short fiction, I will finally be posting weekly short fiction (as promised) to this site, and I’m committed to posting a Halloween short story for the first time in several years.

Also in the coming month, I plan to release my debut novel, Wide Horizon. Details will follow.

A brief update, to be sure. But I’m trying to focus on my writing, generating additional content right now. Until next time, dare to dream. – MK
